IpowerWeb Reviews
Hello everyone. I just wanted to make a page describing our hosting nightmare. As you all are aware, we have had a few glitches with our site the last few weeks. The main reason is because of our VPS hosting company. We were signed up with a company called VPSland.com. They are the worst hosting company we have ever had. Please stay away from VPSland.com. We have written a very informative review about Ipowerweb and VPSland. These are only experiences we have had with them so it's just our opinion of their services and support.
We looked around the net for months before we moved. When we first started 20DollarBeats.com, we were on a shared host. A shared host is a cheap way to host a web site when you first get started. Shared hosting companies are all over the place and are very popular. A shared web hosting service or virtual hosting service or derive host refers to a web hosting service where many websites reside on one web server connected to the Internet. Each site "sits" on its own partition, or section/place on the server to keep it separate from other sites. This is generally the most economical option for hosting as many people share the overall cost of server maintenance.
Our first shared hosting company went belly-up after about 2 months. They were based in florida and I don't even remember the name. I do remember a class action lawsuit be filed and I was entitled to money after everything was said and done. I did get the money and my credit card company did return all my money as well.

The second shared hosting company was called Ipower Web. Again, when we first signed up, they were great. I even got involved in re-selling their services. I was referring 3 sites per week and everything was going good. Then they didn't pay me for my referral fees 2 times in a row. I was pissed. I called them and left emails stating that the affiliate section was not crediting my account. They told me that it was working fine and they had no record of a referral from me that day. This really made me angry. I even had the customer on one phone line and Ipower on the other, did the referral over the phone with the sales rep, and they still refused to give me the money. From then on, I slowly moved all 28 web sites to other hosting companies. Ipower Web Sucks and will rip you off. Do not use Ipower Web for ANY web Hosting services at all.
I then proceeded with a company called Apollo Web Hosting. They were ok, however, their VPS hosting is really terrible. I setup the account and cancelled within 5 days because I could never setup new domains without calling support. They need to fix the VPS control because I can't send a ticket every time I wish to setup a new domain name. They refunded all my money, no questions asked. I do have 3 sites still with them on a shared hosting platform and they seem to work just fine.
VPSLand Reviews
So, after that nightmare, I found a company called VPSland.com. I read reviews and some were bad yet some were good so I figured, what the hell, I'll try it out for 3 months and see if it works.
I signed up for the Linux EZ-Silver Plan. This would be ok to start and if I needed more space or speed, I can always upgrade the plan later. I signed up and within 24 hrs I had all the info I needed to start setting it up. Everything seemed to go well except when I needed to add web mail. It seems that their control panel (plesk, powered by Virtuozzo) was not configured properly. It didn't make the correct records for all the MX records. I had to manually add them in when or if I needed webmail on a domain. This is what the tech support told me. That was not a big deal, but still, it should be setup automatically like the other companies I was with.
So I finally have all my sites moved and configured and seem to be running smoothly. I can now breath a little better right? Wrong! After about 1 week, the server and all my sites were down. I submitted a ticket and got a response within a few hours. It got fixed later on, but it kept on happening over and over and over again. After 6 weeks with VPSland.com, I have decided to move again to another hosting company. Below is the tickets from VPSland.com that all happened within a few weeks of setting up the new server. ServInt VPS Hosting
That brings me to where we are now. 20dollarbeats.com brings in 60+ thousand visitors per month. We have 2 gigs of sound files and go through 600 GB of transfer per month. We needed a good reliable company. A company that can give us 99.9% uptime without any BS. We found a company called SERVInt Internet Services. What can I say? Well nothing yet except the server is wicked fast, the sites NEVER go down.... the forum is great to find any type of info you need. So far so good. I am very happy with them. They are a smaller company dedicated just to VPS Hosting.

We chose to go with the Ultimate VPS package with the plesk control panel (powered by Virtuozzo) because we feel it's much more advanced that C-panel. If you know about web design and hosting sites, you will choose plesk, powered by Virtuozzo. The advanced features, spam blocker, unlimited emails and aliases is the best choice. C-panel is "cheesey" and it needs some work to even look professional. The admin features os c-panel were not up to par with what we look for in a control panel software package. But that's your choice.
If you are looking for a reliable hosting company and don't want to waste time and money screwing around with the horrible companies like VPSland, and IpowerWeb, then choose SERVInt Internet Services.
